The pretty monastery complex in the Grosses Walsertal was developed over several construction stages, extending from the Romanesque period to the modern day, and can now look back on a history of nearly one thousand years. To ensure that this complex, whose renown extends far beyond national borders, would not collapse, extensive restoration work was necessary. JÄGER BAU was commissioned with the task of carrying out the construction work for the first stage of the complete renovation and extension of the Propstei: The creation of new parking spaces, structural modifications to the cow shed, the construction of a new kitchen and inn, storerooms, a new visitor garden and monastery shop, as well as the renovation of a few existing rooms in the gable building. Also built from scratch were the technical centre and staff rooms, as well as supply and disposal lines (part of the courtyard was also redesigned in the process). The construction work was being carried out while maintaining day-to-day operations at the Propstei; structural and civil engineering work were completed at the end of 2015.
