JÄGER built the state museum in Bregenz as a member of a consortium. Demolishing the upper floors while preserving the lower façade was in itself a special challenge. This was followed swiftly by the simultaneous construction of a new annex and comprehensive conversion of the existing building. The greatest challenges were presented by the architects’ design for the façade of the new building, which, after complete construction of the load-bearing inner shell, was precast in situ over the entire 23-m façade height.
