Silvretta High Alpine Road - hairpin bends 22 to 23

JÄGER BAU was commissioned to reroute hairpin bends no. 22 to 23 of the Silvretta high Alpine road. The construction lot length added up to 600 m.

The goal of the construction activities was to reshape the road in such a way to visibly reduce the massive rock fall issues seen in the past years. To guarantee that work be completed as quickly as possible, the Silvretta high Alpine road was closed for all traffic on the Vorarlberg side as of 30 September 2013. Work continued until the winter close of the road. Since the project could not be completed in 2013 due to the extent of the work and the exposed location, an interim completion state was planned. All road construction work was completed in spring of 2014. A total of 35,000 m³ of embankments were poured and 15,000 m³ of rock were removed.
