JÄGER was awarded the contract to construct the energy transport route through the Vorarlberger Illwerke. This project created the entire energy transmission and supply routes of the newly constructed Obervermunt II power plant. The construction phase took place during the summer months of 2014 to 2016. The finishing touches were completed at the end of summer 2017. The construction zone stretched from the Vermunt reservoir through the Trominier tunnel, up to the valley station of the Vermunt mountain lift. The entire length of the construction section came to about 5 km. Section 2, “Vermunt open area", entailed the construction of a cable conduit line extending about 830 m, embedded in concrete and laid in a trench. In section 3, “Trominier Tunnel”, the bottom of the existing tunnel was lowered and the pipeline laid over 2,050 m in a tunnel. In section 4, “Steep Section”, the power cable was laid in a prefabricated trough along the old sloping lift route. The prefabricated parts were transported with the existing Vermunt lift line and installed. The length of the route amounts to about 1,300 m. The upper and lower connection areas were completely buried. During installation activities, the entire sloping lift route was renovated. Finally, the power line ended at the switching station of Kopswerk I.
