New office building for Doppelmayr, Wolfurt

A new administrative building was built for the Vorarlberg-based world leader in cable car construction on the Hohe Brücke site at the company headquarters in Wolfurt. Jäger Bau was part of the consortium charged with the structural engineering work; responsibility for the technical management rested with JÄGER and i+R.

A 9-storey building was erected with a gross floor area of about 21,000 m² to house 550 modern work stations. The buildings are connected to each other and are 27 m high in total (including the basement).

For this project, which took first prize in an architectural competition, 16,000 m³ of concrete, 1,400 tons of construction steel and 10,000 m² of hollow plank ceiling were used. In part, prestressed beams were installed in the attics for the purpose of diverting the weight of entire sections of the facade into the supporting cores.

The major project was realised in a relatively short construction period due to the use of 3 large tower cranes.
