JÄGER BAU sets course for succession

Handover to new management at the end of 2021

With the appointment of two further managing directors, Jäger completes the process of succession planning. After Thomas Lang (civil engineering, project development) joined the management two years ago, Wolfgang Weber (underground construction) and Christoph Grass (finance and accounting) now follow as managing directors in the management team of the Vorarlberg-based group of companies.
At the turn of the year, the long-standing managing directors Guntram Jäger and Nikolaus Gassner will retire from the operational management of JÄGER BAU and its affiliated companies.

The internationally active company employs around 600 people and is a specialist in project development, civil engineering and underground construction. JÄGER BAU has long been successfully established in the development, planning, construction and sale of high-quality residential, commercial and tourism projects in Austria, Switzerland and southern Germany. Regionally, JÄGER BAU is a sought-after partner for private builders, the public sector and architectural and engineering firms. Traditionally, underground construction with international projects is also one of the core competencies of the construction industry company.

"We want to be the best partner for our customers. That is why we have always relied on experience, know-how and committed employees. A high level of technical competence, professionalism, willingness to perform and innovative spirit ensure dynamic company development," explains Guntram Jäger. In 1991, he took over the management of the family-owned company, which was founded in 1922, in the third generation. In 2003, Nikolaus Gassner, who had been head of finance and accounting at Jäger Bau since 1999, also joined the management team.

Continuity in the family business
With the beginning of 2022 the steering of the entrepreneurial group will take place by the new management.
Guntram Jäger: "We have prepared the succession long and consistently and are very happy that all three managing directors are long-standing employees who are very familiar to us. We are sure that the young generation will lead the companies into a good future in the sense of our corporate values, our customers and our employees.
Guntram Jäger remains Managing Director of Jäger Beteiligungsgesellschaft together with his brother Manfred Jäger. Martin Purtscher retires from the Jäger Private Foundation for reasons of age, and his position on the foundation's board is taken over by Nikolaus Gassner. Guntram Jäger and also Nikolaus Gassner will thus continue to work for the company.
